TIP OF THE MONTH - August

Over the last couple of decades most of us have
accumulated more and more electronic gadgets –
computers, cell phones, iPods, toys, etc. Of course each
item will come with its own set of chargers, headsets,
wires and the never-with-you-when-you-need-it instruction
manuals. Multiply these by the number of family members
and you have a big wad of tangled mess…usually all
mixed up in a box or strewn about the house or office.
Yikes!

Bring control to your electronics and eliminate hours of
trying to find the ‘right’ cord, lost warranty information, etc.

Starting with your most recent purchase, pull together
the item and it’s many wires, chargers, instruction and
warranty information and place in a labeled Ziploc
baggie. Go one better by placing a label with the
owner’s and gadget’s names on each supporting
piece (the label can easily fold in half around cords).

Continue this practice with all items at home and
office. Yes it may take a while or even seem futile, but
won’t you be happy when it’s done and you can put
your hands on what you need when you need it?

Store electronic items in a designated space for easy
retrieval and return.

Donate useable but no-longer-wanted items to local
non-profit groups for them to share with others
(remove all personal information from cell phones,
computers, PDA’s, etc.

Until such time that someone invents the universal
attachment cord (please!!) this system will help to keep
you plugged in and sane!
